HUNTSVILLE CITY FC FALLS TO CONNECTICUT UNITED IN 2-2 DRAW

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 30, 2026) - Huntsville City FC played to a 2–2 draw against CT United on Saturday night at Wicks Family Field in the first meeting between the two clubs during the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Connecticut opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the eighth minute to take a 1–0 lead. Huntsville City FC responded just before halftime when Maximus Ekk scored his seventh goal of the season in the 44th minute to send the match into the break level at 1–1.

The visitors regained the lead in the 67th minute, but the Boys in Blue answered once again. Malachi Molina found the equalizer in the 78th minute, bringing Huntsville back level and setting up a dramatic finish.

With the score tied 2–2 at the end of regulation, the match moved to a penalty shootout to determine the extra point. CT United FC claimed the shootout victory, while Huntsville City FC earned one point from the contest.

The Boys in Blue now turn their attention to a road matchup against Toronto FC II on Friday, June 5, at 6 p.m. CT.
