(May 3, 2025) – In a high-energy night under the lights at Wicks Family Field, Huntsville City FC and Atlanta United 2 played to an entertaining 2-2 draw on Star Wars™ Night, with the visitors winning 5-4 in the post-match shootout.
Huntsville wasted no time igniting the home crowd, with Jordan Knight striking early in the first half to give the home side the lead. The momentum continued when Alan Carleton — facing his former club — slotted in a brilliant goal to make it 2-1 heading into halftime.
Despite Huntsville’s strong showing, Atlanta United 2 equalized in the second half and went on to convert all five of their penalty kicks in the shootout. The Boys in Blue matched them nearly step-for-step but ultimately fell just short, 5-4 in penalties.
The atmosphere at Wicks Family Field remained electric throughout the night, with fans celebrating in costumes, and cheering during one of the most spirited theme nights yet.
Huntsville City FC now hits the road for a clash against Carolina Core on Saturday, May 10 at 6PM, before returning home on May 17 for Kid’s Night against rivals Chattanooga.
