Huntsville, Ala. (Aug. 12, 2026) - Huntsville City FC battled Crown Legacy FC to a 2-2 draw Wednesday night at Wicks Family Field before falling 5-4 in the ensuing shootout.
The draw marked the third meeting between the two sides this season. Crown Legacy claimed the first two meetings, earning a 7-2 victory before a 3-1 win in the second matchup.
Crown Legacy struck early Wednesday, with Magic Smalls finding the back of the net in the third minute. Smalls added a second goal in the 13th minute to give Crown Legacy a 2-0 lead.
The Boys in Blue responded in the 22nd minute when Nick Pariano buried a half-volley to cut the deficit in half. Huntsville continued to battle and found the equalizer in the 68th minute through Moises Véliz, sending the match into a shootout.
After both sides converted four attempts, the shootout continued into additional rounds. Crown Legacy ultimately prevailed, earning the extra point while Huntsville City FC collected one point from the result.
The Boys in Blue return to action Sunday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. against Inter Miami CF II at Wicks Family Field. The match will feature the final fireworks show of the season.
