The year of Jude Terry rages on.Â
His Matchweek 10 golazo for Los Angeles FC 2 has been voted 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Goal of the Year, further decorating what's already been a breakout season for the 18-year-old Homegrown.Â
He was in his bag in LAFC 2's 3-1 win over Real Monarchs on May 10, when he broke a deadlock when he created just enough space to rifle in a missile from well outside the box.
After making 27 MLS NEXT Pro appearances last year, Terry has been primarily deployed on the star-studded LAFC first-team roster in 2026 and has been a regular contributor in their MLS campaign. Flashing his flair for the big goal, he opened his MLS account with an AT&T Goal of the Matchday honor in April.Â
A pathway star, Terry joined the LAFC Academy at the age of 12 and professionally debuted for LAFC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro in 2024 and signed a Homegrown contract ahead of the 2025 season at the age of 16. Internationally, Terry earned hardware with the United States U-15 squad in the 2023 Concacaf Boys' Championship, and has consistently earned appearances in every subsequent age group en route to appearing for the U-19 team earlier this month.Â
For Goal of the Year, Terry received 38% of the fan vote on MLS NEXT Pro's Instagram poll, beating out Orlando City B's Jacob RamÃrez (36%), NYCFC II's Camilo Ponce (16%), and Arnaud Tattevin of Carolina Core (10%).
