Bridgeport, Connecticut (September 20, 2026) — CT United FC defeated Inter Miami CF II 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at Knights Field at the University of Bridgeport in MLS NEXT Pro regular-season play, securing a historic playoff berth in the club’s inaugural season.

The Coywolves opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Bryan Destin found the back of the net. Destin doubled the lead in the 27th minute, with Rickson van Hees providing the assist.

Inter Miami CF II pulled one back in the 42nd minute through A. Applewhite, cutting CT United’s advantage to 2-1 heading into halftime.

Miami leveled the match in the 51st minute when A. Flores scored, but CT United responded almost immediately. Destin completed his hat trick in the 53rd minute, assisted by Alex Monis, to put the Coywolves back in front.

CT United continued to build its advantage in the second half. Brandon Tanvi scored in the 58th minute before adding another in the 72nd minute, with Alex Applewhite providing the assist.

The Coywolves made several changes throughout the second half, with Robbie Mora replacing Ernesto Gómez and Daniel D’Ippolito entering for Dylan Lacy in the 54th minute. Cole Paixão replaced Bryan Destin in the 70th minute, while Neo Che and Jamison Ping entered for Alex Applewhite and Alex Monis, respectively, in the 79th minute.

Tanvi completed his hat trick in the 88th minute, with Cole Paixão providing the assist, giving CT United a 6-2 advantage.

The Coywolves added one more in stoppage time when Daniel D’Ippolito scored in the 90+4th minute to complete the 7-2 victory.

CT United's attack finished with 29 shots, including 13 on target, compared to Miami's 13 shots and five on target. The Coywolves also recorded six corner kicks and six blocked shots.

Gunther Rankenburg made four saves for CT United, while the Coywolves finished with seven clearances and committed 13 fouls.
