Carolina Core FC looks to continue its success at home with a match against Chattanooga FC after falling 3-1 to CT United FC on Sunday. The Foxes are rolling in on a four-game unbeaten streak while playing in front of The Core faithful.
1 - Revenge is Best Served Cold
The Foxes enter this matchup against Chattanooga at a 2-4-1 disadvantage all-time. The two squads’ previous meeting resulted in a 1-0 victory for Chattanooga on 24th behind an Alex Krehl goal in the 59th minute. The Core also hopes to secure their first regulation victory against Chattanooga since their 2-1 win in July 2024. Carolina is now looking to avenge its defeat in front of a raucous home crowd after being undefeated in its last four matches at Truist Point.
7 - Tattevin Continues to Shine
Arnaud Tattevin continues to be Carolina’s premiere scorer, netting his seventh goal of the season in the 49th minute against CT United FC. His goal on Sunday moved him into a tie for 15th in MLS Next Pro in goals scored. Tattevin also accounted for eight of The Core’s 20 shots in Connecticut. His performance on Sunday broke a three-match scoreless streak following his two-goal effort against Crown Legacy FC on June 13. The UNC Greensboro alum has been nothing short of electric since he decided to remain in the Triad.
24 - Another New Face
Tristan Weber made his Core debut on Sunday against CT United FC, subbing in for Ryan Baer at halftime. The California native made his presence known in the midfield with a shot while connecting on 26 passes for a 84.6% passing percentage in 45 minutes. Weber is no stranger to MLS Next Pro, appearing in 15 matches for Portland Timbers 2 in 2023 and seven for Columbus Crew 2 in 2022. He logged over 1,000 minutes across the two clubs. While spending time in USL Championship in 2020 and 2021, Weber most recently played for Capo FC in 2024 where he scored a goal in three matches.
28 - Two-Sided Story
Chattanooga has proven to be one of the top offenses in MLS Next Pro, tallying 33 goals on 99 shots on goal. Alex Krehl, who scored in the clubs' previous meeting, leads Chattanooga with 10 goals, which is tied for second in the league. While their attack tends to overwhelm opponents, their defense has not been as strong. Chattanooga has allowed 28 goals on the season with 12 of them coming in their last six matches. The Core's attack has begun to hit its stride in the last month, getting on the board in five of its last six games. With Tattevin leading the way, the Foxes are looking for a chance to find the back of the net multiple times against Chattanooga.
