HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Aug. 23, 2026) Huntsville City FC earned a 1-0 victory over Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday night at Wicks Family Field, securing three points in the first matchup between the two sides this season. Entering the match, Columbus sat fifth and Huntsville 10th in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference.
The first half remained scoreless as both sides battled to break through. The match stayed locked up into the second half before Huntsville found the decisive goal deep into stoppage time.
In the 90th minute plus seven minutes of stoppage time, Malachi Molina found the back of the net to give Huntsville a 1-0 lead and close out the victory. The goal marked Molina’s seventh of the season.
The Boys in Blue return to action Sunday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. CT against New England Revolution II as the push for playoffs continues.
