High Point, NC (August 8, 2026) - Carolina Core FC delivered a commanding performance at Truist Point Stadium on Saturday night, scoring both goals in the first half to earn a 2-0 victory over Huntsville City FC.
Carolina Core FC came out on the front foot, applying early pressure to Huntsville City FC and keeping play in the attacking half. The Foxes found an early breakthrough in the fifth minute when Thomas Raimbault delivered a corner kick into the box that would be tipped by Nicholas Kaloukian to Charles Orbaugh, who headed it into the back of the net to give The Core a 1-0 lead.
The Foxes continued to control the match throughout the remainder of the first half, with Arnaud Tattevin, Thomas Raimbault, Nicholas Kaloukian, and David Diaz all testing the Huntsville defense with shots on goal. Carolina Core doubled its advantage just before halftime in the 44th minute when Bodie Ford whipped a cross into the penalty area that Raimbault finished to give The Core a 2-0 lead heading into the break.
Carolina Core maintained its attacking momentum after halftime, continuing to dictate possession in the offensive half. The Foxes recorded three shots on goal early in the second half, forcing Huntsville's backline and goalkeeper into a series of key defensive plays to prevent the lead from growing.
Huntsville created a handful of chances as the half progressed, but Carolina Core's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Nick Holliday, stood firm to preserve the clean sheet. The visitors' frustration showed late when Nigel Prince received his second yellow card in the 90th minute, reducing Huntsville to 10 men for the remainder of stoppage time. The Foxes comfortably saw out the final minutes to secure a 2-0 victory and all three points at Truist Point Stadium.
