HIGH POINT, N.C. — Carolina Core FC (CCFC) today announced the appointment of Ged Quinn and Gwen Brogley as Co-CEOs of their Academy and Youth programming, a new leadership structure that strengthens the club's full player pathway and further connects its youth, academy, and professional environments under one shared standard of excellence.
Quinn and Brogley join Carolina Core from Barça Residency Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona, the United States' full-residential academy affiliated with FC Barcelona, and one of the most respected player-development environments in American soccer. Their arrival marks a significant step for Carolina Core FC as the club continues to build a rapidly growing, innovative soccer ecosystem headquartered in the Carolina Core region of High Point, North Carolina - one that spans the club's MLS NEXT Pro team, boys MLS NEXT Homegrown and Academy programs, Girls Academy programs, and a full youth development pathway from the recreation, junior and competitive programs all the way through the nation’s most competitive levels.
As Co-CEOs, Quinn and Brogley will lead Carolina Core's Academy and Youth programs while working in close collaboration with the technical and operations staff of the club's MLS NEXT Pro team, ensuring a single, connected standard runs through every level of the organization, both on and off the field.
A Unified, Complementary Leadership Model
The Co-CEO structure reflects shared ownership of the club's success, built on two clearly defined and interlocking areas of focus.
Ged Quinn — CEO & Technical Director
Quinn will lead Carolina Core's coaching and on-field competitive youth programming, overseeing player development philosophy, curriculum, on-field standards, and team structure across every age group and level of the club.
Quinn brings nearly two decades of elite player-development leadership. Since 2019, he has served as Academy Director at Barça Residency Academy, where he has partnered with FC Barcelona's Technical Directors to implement the club's methodology and playing style across all academy age groups, managed a full-time coaching and residential staff of more than 35, and helped guide 34 alumni to professional contracts across MLS, USL, and top European leagues since the academy's founding in 2017. His career also includes leadership roles as Director of Coaching at FC Delco in Philadelphia, Technical Director at Berks Soccer Academy, and time as a player and assistant coach with Reading United AC, a USL PDL affiliate of the Philadelphia Union. Quinn holds a USSF Academy Director License, a USSF 'A' License, and a UEFA B License through the Wales FA. His business acumen includes an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, an MBA in Football Management from Focus Sports, and a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Gwen Brogley — CEO & Head of Player Care and Core Development
Brogley will lead player and family care, club culture, and operational practices. She is charged with building the systems and standards that make Carolina Core a place where players develop into well-rounded humans, families trust with their young athlete’s development, and staff are proud to be part of. Ensuring coordination between players’ academics, medical care, character development programming, and sporting is a key focus.
Elevating player care and culture to a co-CEO level is a significant commitment for any club at the youth level, and it reflects Carolina Core's view that how players and staff are supported is just as central to the club's success as what happens on the field.
Brogley brings nearly a decade of dedicated player care leadership. Since 2017, she has served as Director of Player Care & Academy Operations at Barça Residency Academy USA, where she has led a Residence Life staff and led operations for the health and wellbeing of as many as 180 student-athletes at a time. She has shaped academy-wide policies including the Code of Conduct, led the academy's crisis and emergency response protocols, and built its community outreach and volunteer program from the ground up. She also solidified the academy's academic partnership with ASU Preparatory Academy, advocating for student-athletes' educational needs alongside their athletic development. Brogley holds a Certificate in Player Care from the Player Care Group.
Together, Quinn and Brogley will report jointly to Carolina Core FC ownership and will work side by side to ensure the club's on-field standards and its culture of holistic player care move forward as one connected program.

Quinn and Brogley began their roles with CCFC in late July, in advance of the Academy and Youth seasons that begin the first week in August.
