2025 MLS NEXT Pro Matchweek 11 Honors

MW11 awards

Another round of high drama in MLS NEXT Pro brought out some serious heroics in Matchweek 11.

The Town FC made a statement with a 3-0 road win over Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday, extending a dominant unbeaten streak to five. The quality win earns them their first Team of the Matchweek honor of the season.

Staying in the West, St Louis CITY2 star MyKhi Joyner scored four goals in a huge 6-3 comeback win over Portland Timbers2, making himself the runaway winner for Player of the Matchweek.

The last unbeaten in the league fell on Sunday when Inter Miami II topped Philadelphia Union II 1-0. Inter Miami Academy goalkeeper Ivan Schmid had arguably the best performance in his budding pro career to protect the clean sheet for his first Rising Star of the Matchweek honor.

MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 11: The Town FC

TTFC

TTFC looked like they were at the peak of their powers in their 3-0 win over Rapids 2 on Sunday.

It was another big shift from Nonso Adimabua who was good for the opener and provided assists in both of their insurance goals.

Defensively, TTFC only allowed two shots on goal which made for a comfortable win over a Rapids 2 that came in scoring seven goals in their last four matches.

The win moves The Town above the playoff line in the West and extends their league-best unbeaten streak to five. They also successfully closed out May with a month-long clean sheet where they've outscored opponents 12-0.

Forward · St Louis CITY2

Oh my, MyKhi!

There’s no arguing with Mykhi Joyner’s four-goal showing in St Louis CITY2’s comeback win over Timbers2.

The 18-year-old Homegrown was clinical, scoring a Goal of the Matchweek entry from long range, twice from the penalty mark, and sent in a loose ball in the box for insurance.

His big-time performance on Saturday put him in the thick of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot race.

Joyner, a CITY Academy product, signed his first-team Homegrown contract in July of last year and earned his first MLS call up shortly after. He's split his time helping both the St. Louis first team and CITY2 so far in 2025.

MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 11: Ivan Schmid

Take a bow, Ivan Schmid!

The Inter Miami Academy goalkeeper produced a clean sheet to hand Philadelphia Union II their first loss of the year.

Schmid, 18, was good for six saves in a busy shift where Union II put up a whopping 23 shots. A late Inter Miami II red card meant he had to grind out the last 10 minutes of the match down a man, and Schmid was more than up to the task.

His heroics earned a second Man of the Match honor of the season, the other came in his first pro start in a 3-2 win against Orlando City B under the bright lights at the 2024 Generation Adidas Cup showcase match.

It's been a great season for the Inter Miami Academy in MLS NEXT Pro, as Schmid represents their third Rising Star of the Matchweek honor.
