North Texas SC defender Gavin Gall has earned the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 7, after gathering more than 50% of the fan vote.
Gall’s award-winning strike took palce in the first half of North Texas SC’s 2-0 win over The Town FC.
The 21-year-old made a run into the box, controlling a free kick delivery from Sam Sarver with his chest before knocking in home a half-volley for his first professional goal.
Other nominees for Goal of the Week included LAFC2’s Matt Evans, Whitecaps FC 2’s Jackson Castro, and MNUFC2’s Loïc Mesanvi.
Born in Highland Village, Texas, Gall is the son of North Texas SC head coach John Gall.
He came up through the FC Dallas Academy system before attending North Texas SC’s open tryouts in December.
After earning a spot in the trialist camp, he signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract with the club in March.
Gall is the seventh player signed through North Texas SC’s open tryouts and now becomes just the third to score in league play.
North Texas SC next heads to Minnesota for a clash with MNUFC2 on May 2 at 1 p.m. ET at the National Sports Center Stadium.
