Carolina Core FC midfielder Glory Nzingo has claimed the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 6 honor following his sensational first-half strike against Toronto FC II this past weekend.

Making his first start for The Foxes, Nzingo made an immediate impact in the 31st minute. After receiving a pass from Facundo Canete near midfield, the 20-year-old Irish midfielder beat his defender and launched a ball over the Toronto goalkeeper for the opening goal.

Though Toronto FC II later equalized, Carolina Core came out on top in the shootout, with Alex Sutton delivering the decisive save to keep the team unbeaten in shootouts this season (2-0).

Other Goal of the Week nominees included Daniel Russo (Whitecaps FC 2), Sam Bassett (Colorado Rapids 2), and Kevin Carmichael (Huntsville City FC).

Nzingo is currently on loan from Swansea City and previously developed in the Stade de Reims academy in France.

Up next for Carolina Core FC is a road fixture against Atlanta United 2 on Wednesday, April 23.
