Chattanooga FC goalkeeper Eldin Jakupović continued the club's run of competing in the MLS NEXT Pro's Goalie Wars competition as part of the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, following on from Jean Antoine's debut for the club in the event last season
Jakupović was one of only four goalkeepers in the league selected to participate in the event, which was broadcast globally and free to view on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
CFC's keeper went up against Southeast Division rival Carlos Mercado of Orlando City B in the evening's second semifinal and lost 4-1. Jakupović scored with a beautiful side volley into the top corner near the end of the round, however it wasn't enough for him to advance to the championship round.
Despite the result, Jakupović reflected on the positives of the experience at Q2 Stadium in Austin.
"Overall it was a fun experience. I was excited to participate in the event. I'm disappointed how it ended, but I was very grateful to represent CFC in Austin. Now it's all focus on a strong push for the playoffs."
